Yaya Mayweather Ordered to Pay Woman $50 Million Over 2020 Stabbing

Yaya Mayweather, the daughter of American boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, has been ordered to pay more than $50 million to a woman she stabbed during a 2020 confrontation at rapper NBA YoungBoy’s home.

A Texas judge ordered Yaya, 25, to pay LaPattra Jacobs $50,105,000 in a civil judgment over the attack, according to court documents reported by XXL.

The massive award includes $40,105,000 in compensatory damages and another $10 million in exemplary damages.

More than $8 million of the compensatory award covers past medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment, loss of earning capacity and disfigurement. Another $32 million covers future damages.

The case dates back to April 3, 2020, when Jacobs was at NBA YoungBoy’s home and Yaya arrived.

The two women got into a verbal confrontation that escalated into a physical fight. Yaya then grabbed two knives from the kitchen and stabbed Jacobs.

A judge in the civil case found Yaya fully responsible for the attack and determined that Jacobs acted in self-defense.

Yaya and NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, were dating at the time. The former couple later welcomed a son.

Yaya also faced a criminal case over the stabbing. She entered a plea to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2022 and received six years of probation.

Jacobs also sued NBA YoungBoy, but the claims against the rapper did not go to trial.

Now, more than six years after the stabbing, Yaya faces a $50.105 million civil judgment over the attack.
