Ugandan singer Ykee Benda has signaled a strong return to music, opening up about his time away and teasing new releases.

The Mpaka Records boss took to X to explain his absence, revealing that he stepped back to reset and deal with personal changes in his life.

I am sorry I have taken so long but please bear with me, I needed a break from this world of music, recollect myself. I have lost a few friends, made a few new ones, I have found love and building a family now, I have lost money and made some too.

During that period, he balanced life beyond music, focusing on growth, relationships, and staying grounded.

He said the break helped him avoid losing himself and gave him clarity before stepping back into the studio.

But more importantly this break was to make sure I do not lose myself and thank God I did not.

Now, Ykee Benda says he is ready to deliver new music, starting with a fresh project titled “Tempting,” which he describes as a smooth and groovy sound.

Now I am ready to give you exactly what you deserve, TEMPTING is going to give you a soothing groovy sound and it will feel so fresh to the ears, soon coming.
