“Yoweri” Album Launch Sees Museveni Promise Billions for Musicians
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promised to invest between UGX 10 billion and 20 billion in Uganda’s music industry.
The pledge came at the launch of the “Yoweri” music album at Speke Resort Munyonyo on September 27.
The event, organised by Ugandan National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo, drew a crowd of musicians, fans, and leaders.
President Museveni said the funds will support zonal cooperatives to help artistes expand their reach.
He described the album as a unifying project that preserves Uganda’s cultural heritage ahead of the 2026 elections, and thanked Kenzo and all musicians for their teamwork.
I launched the ‘Yoweri’ song album by the Uganda National Musicians Federation, led by Eddy Kenzo, at Munyonyo. I want to thank him and all the musicians for finally getting organised.
The “Yoweri” album unites artistes from across Uganda, celebrating creativity, patriotism, and collaboration.
