Yung Mulo Speaks on Politics, Says He Cannot Vie for Office

Yung Mulo has opened up about his stance on politics, making it clear that he has no plans to run for office.

The dancehall and reggae artiste, born Lubega Mulo, shared his views while appearing on Rewind, where he spoke about his interest in political matters and how they shape everyday life.

He explained that his engagement comes from personal responsibility rather than ambition.

I cannot vie for political office, but I like politics as a citizen of the country and as someone who knows that politics affects my day-to-day life. I have children, so that means I pay school fees. I have a job, so that means I pay taxes. So, it is not just a case of liking politics, rather, I talk about it because it affects everyone’s life.

Yung Mulo’s remarks come years after he briefly hinted at a possible political bid.

In February 2019, he suggested he could run for Kampala mayor in the 2021 elections, a move that sparked conversation at the time.

However, he later withdrew the idea in May of the same year.

Despite stepping back from any political ambitions, Yung Mulo continues to speak openly on national issues, using his platform to reflect on matters that affect ordinary citizens.
