Ziza Bafana Claims Musicians Hold More Power Than Ministers
Ugandan dancehall star Ziza Bafana has stirred debate after boldly claiming that musicians hold more power than politicians.
During an appearance on Sanyuka Morning Xpress, the “Pomini” singer said artistes not only outshine ministers in influence but also in money-making.
Musicians are more powerful than ministers in more ways than you can imagine, even when it comes to making money.
When asked why he personally feels stronger than government officials, Ziza Bafana pointed to the loyalty of his fans.
People believe in me more than ministers, and that is why people pay to watch me. Do people pay to watch ministers? I am more powerful than ministers in terms of influence and money-making.
The singer went on to argue that with a functioning copyright law and paid performances, artistes could easily out-earn top government officials.
He explained that while ministers may earn around 40 million shillings a month, a musician can double or even triple that figure in just four days.
Ziza Bafana now joins fellow singer Nina Roz, who also recently declared that musicians hold greater power than politicians.
