Are Ugandan Event Companies Seeking Greener Pastures in Kenya?

Several Ugandan events and entertainment companies are expanding into Nairobi as they look to grow their presence in the East African market.

Among them is Fenon Events, which opened a new office in the Kenyan capital in January 2026.

The company has previously organized major concerts in the region featuring artistes such as Joe Thomas and Asake.

Another major promoter, Talent Africa Group, recently launched its Kenyan branch with a rooftop event that featured Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka and Savara.

Creative company Swangz Avenue has also begun expanding its regional reach.

The group recently introduced Live54 Plus, a project aimed at supporting African creatives and creating opportunities beyond Uganda.

The expansion has sparked discussion within the local industry.

Some observers believe rising production costs and taxes in Uganda are pushing companies to explore other markets.

However, industry executives say the move is about growth and building stronger East African entertainment brands.
