Joshua Baraka Commends Bebe Cool’s New Sound, Predicts Future of Ugandan Music
Singer Joshua Baraka is rallying support for “Cheque,” the track he features on from Bebe Cool’s latest album Break The Chains.
He has encouraged fans to stream the song and support the entire project, which he feels deserves far more recognition than it’s currently receiving.
Appearing on Gossip Live, Baraka praised both the musical quality of the album and the strategic effort Bebe Cool has invested in promoting it.
Bebe Cool made a very good album. ‘Cheque’ is doing amazing. I love what Bebe is doing. He is really setting an example. He is doing what a lot of people have failed to do.
While Bebe Cool’s album has attracted attention, it has also drawn criticism from some listeners who have questioned its sound and overall direction.
Still, Baraka believes those detractors may be missing the larger vision.
Right now, people may not understand what he is doing, but he is doing the right thing.
Looking ahead, Baraka also shared his thoughts on the evolving music scene in Uganda.
He noted that the sound of Ugandan music today has shifted significantly from what was being released just two or three years ago.
In his view, only artistes who are willing to evolve and adapt will stand out.
In the next few years, the music industry in Uganda is going to be tough if you are not a certain way. It is going to be harder.
