Spice Diana Refuses to Be Boxed Into One Genre, Says Her Style Is Versatility

Spice Diana may be labeled Afrobeats, RnB, or Pop depending on where you look, but the singer says even she cannot box herself in.

While appearing on Galaxy TV, the Ugandan songstress opened up about her musical identity and admitted she is still figuring it out.

For her, the journey has always been about freedom, not labels.

Up to now, I have not discovered my style, I would be lying to you. From day one, I have never had just one style. I have been versatile.

That versatility, she says, is the reason her music connects with different crowds.

Whether it is city fans, village audiences, the young, or the old, Spice Diana believes her sound moves across spaces because she refuses to stay in one lane.

That is why you see me performing uptown, downtown, in villages, in the city, for the young and the old, everywhere. I know I am an artist, and that is it. Whatever comes my way, I give it a try. I do not like being comfortable in one place or limiting myself.

Over the years, that mindset has seen her experiment with multiple genres, from smooth RnB to dancehall energy and even traditional sounds.

I can do RnB, I can do dancehall, I can do everything. I can sing Kadongo Kamu, and I have done it. I have tried most styles of music, and it has made it hard for me to fully discover myself.

But the freedom to try everything also comes with mixed demands from the outside.

Some fans see her as calm and soulful, while others expect high energy ragga vibes.

Spice Diana says she simply gives people options.

You will find someone saying Spice Diana is calm, while another person wants ragga. So I cater to all my fans, and they choose what they like.

Bottom line, the “Siri Regular” hitmaker would rather stay versatile than stick to one sound.
