Who Runs Ugandan Music? GNL Says Look No Further Than Kawempe

Have you ever wondered which area in Uganda produces the most musical talent? GNL Zamba has, and he believes the answer is Kawempe.

In a recent media interview, the veteran rapper confidently stated that this Kampala suburb is so rich in musical talent, it could compete with the rest of the country and still come out on top.

“There is greatness that comes from Kawempe,” GNL said proudly, pointing to a long list of stars who were born and raised there.

He mentioned big names like Jose Chameleone, Pallaso, Mudra D Viral, Fik Fameica, Spice Diana, Sheebah and Weasel, all of whom have had a major impact on the music industry.

With a laugh, GNL added, “We even have the Republic of Kawempe. We could secede from this country if we are not treated well.”
