Apple 256 Defends Her DJ Skills Amid Prerecorded Mixes Claims

Apple 256 has dismissed claims that she relies on prerecorded mixes during performances, insisting she genuinely mixes live at gigs.

Born Apple Nakate, the Ugandan DJ revealed that her interest in deejaying developed over the last three years after watching different DJs perform at events and entertainment spots across the country.

Her manager later encouraged her to fully pursue the career, something she already felt passionate about, with Swazi DJ and record producer Uncle Waffles serving as one of her biggest inspirations.

Apple 256 says her passion helped her learn the craft within just three weeks.

I learned how to DJ in three weeks because I had passion.

She also brushed off claims that she simply presses play during performances, insisting fans who have watched her live can easily tell that she mixes in real time.

People who have ever watched me DJ live can testify, and you can see that the player has lights, of course you have to be playing. You cannot keep playing nonstop because people will eventually figure it out.

As criticism surrounding her fast rise continues, Apple 256 appears determined to prove herself as one of the new faces in Uganda’s growing DJ scene.
