From Controversy to Empowerment: Bad Black Launches Women’s Retreat

For years, Bad Black‘s name has been associated with controversy, court battles, public feuds, and a lifestyle that often dominated entertainment headlines.

Now, the socialite says she wants to use her experiences to help other women navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.

Bad Black, born Shanita Namuyimbwa, has unveiled a women’s empowerment and healing retreat dubbed “Beauty Beyond The Scars,” an initiative designed to support women dealing with pain, rejection, abuse, and personal setbacks.

The retreat will take place at Avocado Bay Private Retreat in Entebbe under the Namuyimbwa Women Development Initiative Uganda Limited.

At the heart of the campaign is a message of transformation.

Branded around the theme “From Pain To Purpose,” the initiative encourages women to find strength in their struggles and use their experiences as a foundation for growth.

Promotional messages released ahead of the retreat carry themes of healing, resilience, and self-worth.

Among them are the phrases “You are healing. You are rising. You are not alone” and “No More Tears. No More Shame. No More Silence.”

People familiar with the project say the retreat will feature mentorship sessions, motivational speakers, healing activities, and opportunities for women to connect with support networks.

The announcement has attracted mixed reactions online.

Supporters have welcomed the initiative and praised Bad Black for turning difficult life experiences into a platform aimed at helping others. Others remain skeptical and question whether one of Uganda’s most controversial public figures can successfully transition into the role of mentor and empowerment advocate.

Regardless of the reaction, the launch marks a significant new direction for the socialite.

Whether the initiative succeeds or not, Bad Black appears determined to build a legacy that extends beyond the headlines that once defined her.
