Ghetto Kids Not Dropped From World Cup Plans, Manager Dauda Clarifies
Kavuma Dauda, the guardian and manager of the Ghetto Kids, has dismissed rumors that organizers dropped the dance troupe from activities surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The speculation emerged despite the group receiving a personal invitation from international music star Shakira to perform alongside her and Burna Boy during the FIFA World Cup final halftime show on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Speaking to the media, Dauda insisted that the invitation remains valid and that preparations are continuing as planned.

Our invitation is still due, and everything is moving according to plan. Those who thought the deal had been cancelled should know that the Ghetto Kids are still part of the program.
With the invitation still in place, the group has continued preparing for the performance and the opportunity to showcase Ugandan talent on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages.
Dauda also revealed that Shakira is looking forward to sharing the stage with them during the event.

This is a dream come true for these children. To have global stars recognizing their talent is a testament to how far they have come.
He maintained that all arrangements remain on course and urged supporters not to pay attention to speculation suggesting otherwise.
If all goes according to plan, the World Cup final will mark another major international stage for the Ghetto Kids as they continue to showcase Ugandan talent to a global audience.
