Joshua Baraka Predicts Global Rise For East African Creatives

Joshua Baraka sees East Africa standing on the edge of something major.

The singer recently shared a passionate message online celebrating the explosion of creativity happening across Uganda’s entertainment and arts scene.

Rather than focusing only on music, Joshua Baraka pointed to dance, film, and fine art as proof that a new generation of East African creatives is slowly reshaping how the world sees the region.

I think art in Uganda is undergoing another revolution. From music to dance to fine art to film, I’m so happy seeing where we are going. East Africa is going to take over the world and our stories will be heard. The revolution will be televised. It’s time.

Interestingly, Joshua Baraka’s own career already mirrors the vision he described.

Over the past few years, the singer has steadily pushed Ugandan music onto bigger global platforms through streaming success, international performances, and records like Morocco, which later attracted remixes from international stars including Shenseea and French Montana.
