Jowy Landa Vows to Go Clean, Says No More Vulgar Music
Ugandan singer Jowy Landa has vowed to drop vulgarity from her music this year, saying she is shifting her focus to a cleaner and more polished sound.
During a chat with media personality Mr Henrie, she said she now wants to deliver beautiful music that can appeal to a wider audience, including corporate listeners.
She admitted that in the past, some people pushed her toward vulgar content, claiming that is what Ugandans prefer, but she has chosen to move away from that direction.
This year, I am not going to say anything vulgar. I am going to give you good music only, beautiful music. As you have been seeing, we have been releasing new music every month, and people are loving it. I have not been vulgar. Some people were misleading me, saying that is what Ugandans want, but I need to think about corporate audiences as well. So this year, it is clean music.
Even so, she acknowledged that vulgar songs often perform well in the local market, something she has witnessed during her performances.

Jowy Landa, who previously worked under Jeff Kiwa, revealed towards the end of last year that she signed with Team City Music (TCM), a move she says is already paying off.
