Juliana Kanyomozi Says She Is “Beyond” Chasing Music Trends
Juliana Kanyomozi says she feels no pressure to follow music trends despite the growing popularity of genres such as Amapiano.
While many artistes constantly change their sound to match what is trending, Juliana revealed she is comfortable staying true to herself.
Speaking during an interview on Capital FM, the celebratd Ugandan vocalist said today’s generation of artistes is doing what feels right for them.

I think I am beyond that. I feel like this is their time. The generation that is recording music and releasing it the way they are, I feel like it is their time and they are doing their thing the way they feel is right for them at the moment.
Juliana also admitted that although she enjoys listening to Amapiano and watching female DJs perform the genre, she does not see herself making that type of music.
Do I enjoy listening to it? Yes. I enjoy watching those female DJs when they are doing Amapiano. Will I do it? Probably not.
She added that she is proud of younger artistes for doing their thing while she continues doing hers.

They are doing their thing and I am proud of them while I continue doing mine.
However, not every artiste sees it the same way.
Veteran musician Bebe Cool, born Moses Ssali, has continued embracing newer sounds as music trends evolve worldwide.

In May 2025, the Gagamel boss released a 16 track album, Break The Chains, that marked a shift from his signature reggae and ragga style toward Afro-inspired sounds.
At the time, Bebe Cool explained the need for artistes to embrace the sounds the world is listening to in order to remain competitive on the global stage.
Months later, in November, he also confirmed that he was working on an Amapiano album as he continued exploring newer musical directions.
