Kenzo Said He Wanted to Marry Me the First Day We Met – Phiona Nyamutoro

Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, Uganda’s Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development (Minerals), opened up about her relationship with celebrated musician Eddy Kenzo.

Speaking about their union on TV, she described it as a coming together of two completely different worlds.

“Ordinarily, it is unbecoming for a girl in my career to end up with a guy in his career,” she said.

According to Nyamutoro, Kenzo prayed to God for a woman exactly like her.

She attributed their relationship to divine intervention, noting, “Ladies and gentlemen, there is nobody who works like that except God. God has a reason for this.”

Nyamutoro revealed a lesser-known side of Kenzo, describing him as someone with a deep understanding of spirituality.

“If you sat down with Kenzo and he started explaining to you about God, you would think you did not meet Kenzo,” she said.

She also highlighted his passion for engaging with young people, saying, “I think it would be interesting for young people in riot to get to hear from him.”

Reflecting on their first meeting, Nyamutoro shared how Kenzo confidently told her he wanted to marry her.

She added, “I do not know whether he was such a risk taker that he would just tell somebody he barely knows that he wants to marry them.”

Confidently, he told her, “I have never asked any woman to marry me.”

Nyamutoro concluded by affirming her belief in the divine nature of their relationship, saying, “The same God that ordained it will enable us through for the glory of His name.”

Phiona Nyamutoro and Eddy Kenzo formalized their relationship in June with a traditional introduction ceremony, marking a significant milestone in their journey together.

Despite coming from different backgrounds, Nyamutoro and Kenzo continue to inspire with their story of faith and love.
