What Happened To Omutume Planet? Singer Responds To Criticism
Omutume Planet could barely miss in 2023 when “Chai We Njayi” turned into one of the biggest party songs in the country.
The track blasted through bars, clubs, TikTok videos, and hangouts across Uganda, pushing the singer into the spotlight almost overnight as promoters scrambled to book him for performances.

Back then, Omutume Planet openly spoke about how the song had changed things for him, with demand for appearances and shows growing fast at the height of the craze.
These days though, the noise around the name is no longer as loud as it once was, with some critics blaming ego for his slowdown in the industry.
The conversation eventually found its way to those claims during a recent appearance on Weekender, where Omutume Planet pushed back against the criticism.
Truth be told, I do not have pride and ego.

Questions about bookings also came up after reports that he no longer performs as frequently as he did during the peak of “Chai We Njayi.”
Still, Omutume Planet made it clear he is not struggling over the change in momentum.
I drive. I am not doing bad, so I do not care. I am not where I was.
And when talk shifted to rumors about sugar mummies, the singer did not exactly deny it either.
In this world, we work to get what we want.
