Papa Cidy Appeals to Chameleone Over Royalties and Unpaid Performance
Papa Cidy has publicly appealed to Jose Chameleone to address what he describes as unpaid royalties and outstanding performance payments from their past work together.
In a message shared on Facebook, the singer acknowledged Chameleone’s recent efforts to support fellow artistes but urged him to also revisit issues related to songs they created together under Leone Island.
Papa Cidy specifically mentioned tracks such as “Daniela,” saying he invested heavily in the projects and believes he deserves a share of the royalties they generated.

I believe I deserve a pay check from royalties collection.
The singer also claimed that Chameleone never paid him for a performance they staged together in London.
Even the last time we performed together in London, I was never paid. Ffe tunaapatikanira nga bwerere? (How are we supposed to survive if we keep working for free?)
Despite raising the concerns publicly, Papa Cidy maintained a respectful tone throughout his message, describing Chameleone as a good person and expressing hope that they can resolve the matter amicably.
He also urged the veteran musician to address the issue while both men still have the opportunity to do so.
I am only asking for fairness and for us to resolve these issues while we are all still here.

Papa Cidy and Chameleone enjoyed a successful run of collaborations under Leone Island throughout the 2010s, producing several songs that became popular among Ugandan music fans.
At the time of publishing, Chameleone had not publicly commented on Papa Cidy’s remarks.
