Pawaboy AB Says the Fame Ahead Is What Worries Him Most
Kasule Abdulrashid, professionally known as Pawaboy AB, is slowly carving out his space in Uganda’s music indsutry.
With a couple of successful releases already under his belt, the rising singer is beginning to attract attention.
As his name grows, so does the pressure that comes with it.
During an interview on Level Up, Pawaboy opened up about handling fame and expectations, admitting that he is focused more on where he is headed than where he is now.
Fame does not control me. Yes, I am somewhere, but there is where I see that I want to be. So the fame I have right now cannot control me, but the fame I see ahead is the one I am worried about.
He described 2025 as a blessing year, pointing to the impact of his single “Yandalula,” which made waves and further cemented his emergence on the scene.
Building on that momentum, he followed it up with “Nalokinga,” a release he says signals the start of something bigger for 2026.
As you all can see, I have already given you a new tune called “Nalokinga,” and that is just the beginning.
Fans have also begun to notice a pattern in his music.
From “Yoono” to “Yandalula” and now “Nalokinga,” the titles feel connected, almost like chapters in one unfolding story.
When it comes to his creative process, Pawaboy says inspiration often strikes unexpectedly, but he approaches songwriting with a listener’s mindset.
I just be there and I get inspiration. Most times when I am composing music, I put myself in the shoes of a fan. I ask myself, “If I were a fan of Pawaboy, what would I want to hear?”
As his catalogue grows, Pawaboy appears determined to stay grounded while preparing for even bigger stages ahead.
