MC Kapale Reveals How Love Landed Him in Jail in the U.S.
MC Kapale has opened up about a turbulent chapter in his life, revealing how his move to the United States turned into a personal and legal ordeal.
While appearing on Sanyuka TV’s Bigenda Bitya, the comedian said he left Uganda at a low point, as his comedy career struggled and pressure around him grew.
In search of a fresh start, he sold his belongings and moved to the U.S.
Once there, he quickly married an American woman, describing the relationship as an arrangement built on mutual needs.
Kapale said the marriage soon became difficult, as he struggled to adjust to the expectations placed on him.
“I was an African man doing chores like a servant.”
Nine months into the marriage, his spouse accused him of rape in Arkansas, and authorities took him into custody.
The charges were later dropped, but Kapale said the experience forced him to rethink his situation.
He described the period as a turning point and said it pushed him to reflect on his life and direction.
Kapale said he eventually left the situation and returned home, where he believes his purpose lies.
He is back in Kampala, fully focused on reviving his comedy career, with the American dream now in the rearview.
