Ritah Danchall Reveals How Social Media Opened Global Doors

Ritah Dancehall has opened up about the international music stars she has connected with through dance, revealing that social media helped change her life and career.

While appearing on a YouTube podcast, Ritah revealed that she built close relationships with several major artistes over the years, including Jamaican dancehall star Konshens.

According to the dancer, their relationship became so close that she can directly call the singer whenever she wants.

Konshens is just a phone call away. I can call him and he picks up.

Ritah explained that much of her success started from the street dance videos she used to record and post online before gaining wider recognition.

Although she no longer focuses heavily on that kind of content, she admitted the videos opened major doors for her in the entertainment industry.

For Awilo, I just made a video from my street dance clips. I do not do them as much anymore because I feel I have grown past that level, but that is the ladder I used to climb.

One of those videos eventually caught the attention of Congolese music legend Awilo Longomba after Ritah participated in a birthday dance challenge for one of his songs.

To her surprise, the singer personally reached out to her through Instagram.

I did not even know Instagram could be used for calls, but he called me and said he loved my art.

Ritah further revealed that Awilo later informed her about his planned trip to Uganda and invited her to join his performance team during the show.

Beyond Awilo and Konshens, she also disclosed that she has shared stages with Jamaican artiste Dexta Daps and hopes to land another major opportunity with Spice in future.

Her story highlights how social media and consistency in dance content can create opportunities far beyond Uganda’s borders.
