Why Did Irene Ntale Leave Swangz? Benon Still Has No Answers
To this day, Swangz Avenue boss Benon Mugumbya still does not understand why singer Irene Ntale decided to walk away from the label back in 2017.
Ntale, who had become a household name with hits like “Gyobera” and “Sembera,” made a surprising move to quit the label and embark on her solo journey, but never gave a clear reason for her decision.
At the time, she hinted that there were some frustrations behind the scenes, though she chose to keep the details to herself.
Speaking in a recent media interview, Benon admitted that her abrupt departure still hurts to think about.
“We were very hurt when Ntale left us because she is very talented,” he shared.
Benon explained that they were never given an explanation, and even after all these years, he is still unsure what triggered the move.
“It was painful because we did not know her reasons for leaving. Up to now, we have never known why she left. I wish things had played out differently,” he said.
Despite the unanswered questions, Benon holds no grudge and still speaks highly of Ntale, praising her voice, stage presence, and work ethic.
“I still believe she is one of the most talented female Ugandan artistes,” he added.
The mystery surrounding Irene Ntale’s departure from Swangz Avenue continues to linger, leaving both fans and industry insiders curious.
Nonetheless, her four years at Swangz Avenue solidified her status as one of Uganda’s most talented female artistes.
