X Now Limits How Much Free Users Can Post Daily

Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, appears to be tightening posting limits for free users as the company continues pushing more features toward paid subscriptions.

Recent reports and screenshots shared online suggest unverified accounts may now face limits of 50 original posts and 200 replies per day. The restrictions reportedly include regular posts, reposts and quote posts.

X also continues enforcing a 500 direct messages per day cap for free accounts, according to the platform’s official Help documentation.

The reported changes have fueled debate among users, especially content creators, journalists and highly active accounts that rely on constant posting and live interactions.

At the same time, some users believe tighter restrictions could help reduce spam, bot activity and engagement farming on the platform.

The move reflects Elon Musk’s broader effort to reshape X around subscriptions, monetisation and stricter platform controls since rebranding Twitter in 2023.
