Abdul Mulaasi Raises Witchcraft Claims While Discussing Kemi Sera
Veteran singer Abdul Mulaasi has claimed that witchcraft and spiritual attacks are common in Uganda’s music industry, alleging that some artistes fall victim to them through alcohol abuse.
Speaking in an interview, Mulaasi pointed to singer Kemi Sera as an example, describing her as beautiful, talented, and gifted.
He said he tried to help the singer after she returned from South Africa and joined his band.

I tried my level best to help Kemi Sera after she returned from South Africa and joined my band.
During that period, Mulaasi says the group encountered a series of unusual challenges.
He recalled losing their way on several trips to performances, arriving late for shows, and finding chaos at some venues.
We got lost more than four times on our way to shows. Sometimes we would find people fighting, and other times property had been vandalized.
Mulaasi believes alcohol slowed Kemi Sera’s progress in the music industry despite her talent and potential.
He also revealed that Kemi Sera started asking herself whether she had caused the recurring problems, while some members of the band said the challenges began after she joined the group.
