AgaNaga Advises A Pass to Focus More on Kadongo Kamu

Ugandan musician Kalifah AgaNaga believes A Pass produces his best work when he embraces sounds rooted in Ugandan music.

Speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, AgaNaga encouraged the singer to focus more on Kadongo Kamu-inspired music rather than leaning heavily into Jamaican influences.

To support his point, he cited Buwooma, arguing that the song showed how strongly audiences respond when A Pass taps into a style that feels closer to home.

A Pass is a very talented artiste, but I think he shines most when he embraces our local sound. I noticed that when he sang in his natural style on Buwooma, the song became a massive hit. That is the lane that works best for him.

A Pass has built a reputation as one of Uganda’s most versatile musicians, moving comfortably between different sounds throughout his career.

For now, it remains unclear whether he shares AgaNaga’s view, as he had not publicly responded to the comments at the time of writing.
