Shawa Takes Parents to Studio to Record Kadongo Kamu Song
Long before Shawa became a familiar face in comedy, he had two people cheering him on from the sidelines: his parents.
Now, the comedian, who forms one half of the Sammie and Shawa duo, is returning the favor by taking them to a recording studio and helping them share their talent with the public.

I am proud of my parents and I love them so much. That is why I took them to the studio.
The idea grew out of his belief that his parents possess a natural gift for traditional and kadongo kamu music, despite never having had the opportunity to record professionally.
Producer Yaled, who is overseeing the project, said the pair have impressed him with both their talent and commitment.
Taata Shawa and Maama Shawa are very talented. Mulinde [wait for the] hit song.
While fans wait to hear the finished song, Shawa sees the project as something far more personal: a chance to honor the people who helped shape his journey.
