Biggie Events Remanded to Luzira Over UGX 70 Million Debt

Popular events promoter Biggie Events, real name Mariam Mutakubwa, has been remanded to Luzira Prison.

This follows her failure to repay a debt of UGX 70,050,700 owed to Mr. David Tumusiime Amooti.

Reports indicate that she borrowed the money last year to organize Lord Fred Ssebata’s concert at Serena Hotel, Kampala.

Since then, she has failed to settle the debt, reportedly ignoring several court summons.

Due to her continued absence, the court instructed that anyone who encounters her should report her to the nearest police station or bring her directly to court.

She was later arrested by Court Bailiff Komugisha Sarah at her workplace and taken straight to Buganda Road Court.

During the court session, the judge ruled that Promoter Biggie be remanded to Luzira Prison for six months.

After serving her sentence, she is required to repay the full amount to Mr. David Tumusiime Amooti.
