David Beckham Becomes Britain’s First Billionaire Sportsman

David Beckham has officially become Britain’s first billionaire sportsman after his fortune crossed the £1 billion mark, according to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List.

The former Manchester United F.C. and England captain reportedly built the massive fortune alongside his wife, Victoria Beckham. Together, their combined wealth now stands at an estimated £1.185 billion.

Football may have launched Beckham into global fame, but business and branding helped take his fortune to another level after retirement.

The 51-year-old remains a co owner of Inter Miami CF, now considered one of Major League Soccer’s most valuable clubs.

Big money endorsement deals also continue to fuel his earnings, with Beckham maintaining partnerships with brands including Adidas and Hugo Boss.

Long before the billionaire milestone, Beckham built one of football’s most decorated careers, winning major trophies with Manchester United before later playing for Real Madrid CF, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain F.C..

Away from football, Victoria Beckham expanded her own empire through fashion after first rising to fame as a member of the Spice Girls.

The Rich List also featured several other major sports stars, including Lewis Hamilton, Rory McIlroy, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Harry Kane and Andy Murray among Britain’s wealthiest sporting figures.
