Dua Lipa Demands $15 Million From Samsung In Image Rights Dispute

A $15 million legal battle is brewing between pop star Dua Lipa and tech giant Samsung Electronics after the singer accused the company of using her image without permission.

At the centre of the dispute is a backstage photo taken during the 2024 Austin City Limits Music Festival.

Dua Lipa claims the image appeared on Samsung TV boxes sold across the United States, creating the impression that she endorsed the products.

The singer insists she never approved the commercial use of the photograph, which her legal team says she owns the copyright to.

Samsung, however, says a third party partner supplied the image and assured the company that all permissions had already been cleared before the packaging reached stores.

Now, the global pop star is suing Samsung for alleged copyright infringement and unauthorised use of her likeness in what is shaping up to become a major celebrity image rights battle.
