Biswanka Announces 15M, 5M Booking Fees for Shows
Derrick Biswanka sparked online chatter when he unveiled new booking fees that quickly drew public reaction.
The Heaven Music boss told promoters to prepare 15 million shillings for shows outside Kampala and 5 million for performances within the city, marking a shift in how he now prices his brand.
He tied the decision to his long term plans, explaining that lower rates have failed to help him build assets and saying he now wants his music career to bring real financial progress.
This serves to inform all promoters and event organizers across the country that for any booking outside Kampala, if you are to book Biswanka for a performance, make sure you have 15M, and around Kampala, make sure you have 5M, because if we continue with the same booking price, we shall not buy a car or gain any assets from music.
Online users reacted quickly.
Some questioned his demand and asked whether he even gets booked, while others said they do not know his songs. A few mocked his lifestyle and doubted if he can justify the price.
Still, some fans defended him and said artistes have the right to set their value.
Biswanka has now put his price on the table and left promoters to decide whether they will meet it.
