The Different Types of Campus Couples
By Kasemire Christina Mulinde
Campus life is not just about lectures, assignments, and trying to survive on a student budget. It is also home to some of the most interesting relationships you will ever see. Every university has its own love stories, but certain types of couples seem to appear on every campus.
Whether they inspire admiration, spark gossip, or provide endless entertainment, you probably recognize at least a few of these.
1. The “Study Together, Fail Together” Couple
You can always find them in the library sharing notes, laptops, and sometimes even a chair. They start every study session with good intentions but often spend more time staring at each other than at their books. When results come out, they either celebrate together or prepare a joint explanation.
2. The Matching Outfits Couple
These two coordinate everything. Their outfits match, their phone cases match, and their social media posts somehow match too. You never have to wonder whether they are dating because they make sure the entire campus knows.
3. The Public Display of Affection Couple
Every bench, hallway, and cafeteria becomes their stage. Holding hands is only the beginning. Their mission is to make sure everyone witnesses their love story in real time.
4. The On and Off Couple
One week they are posting romantic photos and calling each other soulmates. The next week they have unfollowed each other and deleted every picture. By the end of the semester, nobody can remember how many times they have broken up and reunited.
5. The Secret Relationship Couple
Nobody suspects a thing until graduation day. Suddenly, photos appear online with captions revealing a relationship that apparently lasted for years. The entire campus is left wondering how they managed to keep it hidden.
6. The Campus Celebrity Couple
Everyone knows who they are. They attend every event together, dominate social media, and attract attention wherever they go. If they ever separate, the news spreads across campus before the day ends.
7. The Future Married Couple
These two have already planned their lives together. While everyone else worries about exams, they discuss careers, wedding plans, future children, and where they will live after graduation.
8. The Couple That Practically Lives Together
Officially, they have separate rooms. In reality, one person’s room contains both wardrobes, both chargers, and probably both toothbrushes. At that point, separate accommodation feels like a technicality.
9. The Competitive Couple
Everything becomes a contest. Who scored higher? Who arrived first? Who has more followers? They genuinely care about each other, but neither wants to lose.
10. The “We’re Just Friends” Couple
Everyone believes they are dating except them, or at least that is what they claim. They spend every day together, know everything about each other, and get suspiciously protective whenever someone else shows interest.
Campus relationships come and go, but they always leave behind stories, memories, and enough drama to last an entire semester. The real question is: which type have you seen the most?
