Italy Becomes Latest Country To Scrap Kanye West Concert

Another Kanye West concert has fallen through as controversy surrounding the rapper continues to follow him across Europe.

Officials in the northern Italian city of Reggio Emilia have canceled West’s planned July 18 appearance at the Pulse of Gaia Festival. Authorities pointed to public safety concerns, the risk of protests and the large crowds expected around the event.

The decision came after several organizations, including representatives from the local Jewish community, voiced concerns about the rapper’s participation.

West has faced growing opposition across Europe following a series of controversial statements and actions that sparked widespread criticism. In recent months, organizers and authorities in several countries have either canceled concerts or blocked planned appearances.

The latest decision adds Italy to a growing list of locations where West has struggled to secure performances.

Even so, the rapper still has a number of concerts on his schedule, including upcoming shows in the Netherlands, Tirana and Prague.
