Another Jolie-Pitt Child Is Reportedly Dropping Brad Pitt’s Surname
Another one of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s children appears ready to leave the Pitt surname behind.
According to TMZ, the former couple’s eldest son, Maddox, has filed paperwork seeking to legally change his name from Maddox Chivan Jolie Pitt to Maddox Chivan Jolie. The reported move comes after he had already started using Jolie professionally.
Maddox previously credited himself as Maddox Jolie while working as an assistant director on Angelina’s film Couture. Now, he reportedly wants the change recognized legally as well.
He is not the first of the former couple’s children to distance himself from the Pitt name. Over the past two years, several of his siblings have taken similar steps.
Vivienne used the name Vivienne Jolie in the Broadway production The Outsiders, while Zahara introduced herself publicly as Zahara Marley Jolie during a college event. Shiloh also filed to remove Pitt from her surname after turning 18.
The latest development comes years after Angelina and Brad’s highly publicized split. The pair finalized their divorce in December 2024 following a lengthy legal battle that lasted nearly eight years.
