Joshua Baraka: “You Do Not Really Need Formal Training to Start”
Joshua Baraka believes aspiring musicians do not need formal training to succeed in the music industry.
Speaking on the Grab a Coffee podcast, the singer said talent and a willingness to learn can take artistes a long way, even without classroom education.

You do not really need formal training to start, but people can make use of platforms like YouTube to try and get pointers to be better at what they do. I genuinely believe sometimes you’re just talented and gifted at something.
Baraka pointed out that many successful artistes have built careers without attending music school.
Using Nigerian producer Sarz as an example, he argued that talent often extends beyond technical skills.

Sarz is a great producer, but he cannot play the piano. Music is more about perspective.
Baraka encouraged upcoming musicians to identify their strengths and continue developing them over time.
You could be talented in one particular aspect, and if you nurture it, you will definitely go miles with it. As long as there is the seed of it, you can improve it. Unfortunately, most people do not know what that seed is in their lives.
