King Michael Unbothered by Kalifah AgaNaga Concert Date Clash
King Michael says he has no issue sharing a concert date with Kalifah AgaNaga, insisting that fans will ultimately decide where they want to be.
The singer made the remarks after Kalifah AgaNaga recently apologised for moving his concert to August 1, the same date King Michael had announced for his show.
Speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, King Michael dismissed suggestions that the scheduling clash could create tension between the two artistes.
It is not a problem having my show on the same date as Kalifah AgaNaga’s. I have no problem with it at all.
For him, the issue comes down to fan choice rather than competition.
Every artiste has their own fanbase, and it is okay to do your thing and let me do mine, and let our fans decide when and where they want to go. It is about reaching your fans.
King Michael also pointed to how the music industry has changed over the years.
According to the singer, artistes once relied on rivalries and public battles to attract attention and promote events, but he believes those tactics no longer carry the same appeal.
Way back, people used to use battles and competitions to mobilize fans, get them talking, and even publicize events, but times have changed and people have moved on from that era.
Today’s audiences, he says, are more interested in good music and memorable performances than artiste feuds.
Now people want music.
