Nsambya Agreed to Divorce Because Mirembe Wanted It, Says Nalongo Kitone
Family elder Nalongo Kitone has weighed in on the ongoing separation between Mirembe Irene Nagawa and businessman Ivan Ssegujja, popularly known as Nsambya Furniture, claiming the divorce moved forward because it was what Mirembe wanted.
According to Kitone, Nsambya agreed to end the marriage after Mirembe made her intentions clear.

Nsambya gave in to the divorce because that is what Mirembe wanted from the start.
Even so, Kitone says the matter is not fully settled, revealing that discussions surrounding the separation are still ongoing.
She also dismissed claims linking Nsambya romantically to Mirembe’s sister, describing the reports as unfounded.
Kitone argued that Nsambya has nothing to hide and would publicly introduce a partner if he chose to move on.
She also addressed a viral video that showed Mirembe’s mother warmly embracing Nsambya, saying many people had misinterpreted the moment.
According to Kitone, cultural differences influence how people greet one another, and the interaction should not be viewed as evidence of anything inappropriate.
She added that despite the breakdown of the marriage, Nsambya remains free to maintain a respectful relationship with Mirembe’s mother.

Kitone further suggested that outside influences may have contributed to the couple’s misunderstandings, claiming some of Mirembe’s friends played a role in the challenges that emerged during the marriage.
Her remarks come as public interest in the separation continues to grow, with competing claims and allegations circulating across social media.
