Joshua Baraka Says He Forgot the ‘Why’ Behind His Music
As he prepares for his upcoming tour, Joshua Baraka says he is still trying to find his footing after the death of his father.
The singer shared a candid message with fans, admitting that he has struggled to cope with the loss and is searching for the connection to music that once came naturally to him.
I really need to cope better before the tour. I want to just get the guitar and perform like I used to.
The loss has also forced him to pause and take stock of his journey.
Somewhere along the way I forgot the “why”. It was all a blur. This loss has given me a chance to reset.
Rather than rush through the grieving process, Baraka says he wants to reconnect with the things that matter most to him, including the music and the people who have supported him throughout his career.
I want to make the best music in the world. I have the best listeners in the world. I love you all.
In the days ahead, the “Nana” hitmaker plans to spend more time with fans through a series of intimate performances.
I will be doing a few really random intimate things for the next few days so I can see you and sing for you. (For myself). Maybe it will make me feel better but what do I know?
For now, the singer appears focused on healing, one song at a time, as he prepares for the next chapter both on and off the stage.
