Kohen Jaycee Shares Honest Thoughts On Joshua Baraka Comparisons

Long before Joshua Baraka became one of Uganda’s biggest young music stars, Kohen Jaycee says they were both trying to figure things out from the same creative spaces.

So when fans compare the two today, Kohen says he takes no offense.

During an appearance on NRG Ignition, the singer opened up about their early days around camps like Bantu Vibes, revealing that they often moved within the same circles while chasing the same dream.

We used to be around the same squad… we were basically in the same circles because he had songs with some of the guys and that is how he connected with Axon.

To Kohen, Baraka’s rise was never random.

It just happened that everything aligned for him. He is a very hardworking guy, and you cannot be bitter about that.

Instead of pressure, Kohen says Baraka’s success gives him hope because it proves that artistes from the same environment can eventually break through.

And while social media continues comparing their journeys, he insists the conversation has never really affected him personally.

For me, the comparison never affected me… these guys used to even listen to my music.

Rather than resentment, Kohen Jaycee says he feels proud watching someone from his own circles win so big.
