Mr Eazi has shocked fans after revealing that he intentionally avoids listening to Burna Boy despite being one of his biggest admirers.
The Afropop star explained that Burna Boy’s music influences him so deeply that he worries it could unconsciously affect his own sound as an artiste.
Mr Eazi said he easily absorbs the creative style of musicians he genuinely respects, forcing him to limit how often he listens to Burna Boy while making music.
Burna is one of the only guys that I like, I am genuinely a fan of. I do not even like to listen to Burna. I have said it before, because I am a sponge. If I listen to so much Burna, you will hear it in my music so I try my best to stay away from Burna.
His confession quickly sparked reactions online, with many fans describing the move as a sign of respect rather than rivalry.
Others praised the singer for protecting his originality in an industry where artists often face pressure to follow successful trends.
