Reign Warns Eddy Kenzo of Supernatural Consequences Over Veteran Remarks

Eddy Kenzo is facing growing backlash over remarks about veteran musicians.

The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president sparked anger after claiming older artistes, especially in Kadongo Kamu, did not achieve the same level of financial success as today’s generation.

Critics quickly called the remarks dismissive of the genre’s pioneers.

Kadongo Kamu veterans, including Fred Ssebatta and Willy Mukaabya, also pushed back against Kenzo’s claim and said they built their careers under far tougher conditions.

They maintained that they succeeded without the structures and opportunities available to modern artistes.

While some players in the industry defended Kenzo and said his remarks were misunderstood, others continue to call on him to show respect and apologize.

As the backlash intensified, Reign, one half of the comedy duo Maulana & Reign, weighed in during an appearance on Daily Soup.

In true comical fashion, Reign cautioned Kenzo about people he is speaking about.

I want to tell Kenzo these words: Those people you are talking about are bewitchers. They curse, you wait and see what is going to happen to you.

He made it clear he believes Kenzo could face serious consequences if the veterans take offense.

If Mukaabya curses, Ssebatta curses, Kibijigiri curses, who are you not to suffer?

He then turned to advice and urged Kenzo to take responsibility and make peace with the veterans before it is too late.

You wait and give Kenzo some time, unless he apologizes to them. Kenzo, you should apologize to those old men. Whatever happens to you, do not blame us.
