Tyla Secures Historic Double Win at 2026 American Music Awards

The global rise of Tyla reached another major moment at the 2026 American Music Awards.

The South African singer secured two wins during the ceremony, taking home Best Afrobeats Artiste and Social Song of the Year for her hit single “CHANEL.”

The victories made Tyla the only African artiste to win at this year’s AMAs.

She also extended her own record as the most nominated African artist in the award show’s history after receiving four nominations ahead of the ceremony.

In the Best Afrobeats Artiste category, Tyla defeated major names including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, and Moliy.

Released in October 2025, “CHANEL” became a major streaming success and reportedly earned more than 320 million plays on Spotify worldwide.

The singer now prepares for the upcoming BET Awards and the release of her second studio album in July.
