Vyper Ranking Reveals His Early Dancehall Inspirations
Vyper Ranking has opened up about the Ugandan artistes who became his early dancehall inspirations long before he grew into one of the genre’s most respected names.
During an interview on KFM, the self-styled “Riddim Killer” revealed that stars like Peter Miles, Kid Fox, Toolman Kibalama, Rabadaba, and Bobi Wine played a major role in shaping his sound.

I was inspired by a lot of artistes. The likes of Peter Miles, Kid Fox, Toolman Kibalama, Rabadaba, and many others. I used to listen to Bobi Wine’s introductions and wonder, “What is he saying?”
That curiosity eventually pushed him to teach himself and dive deeper into dancehall and reggae music.
So, I tried to learn. I taught myself, then fell in love with dancehall and reggae music. That is why when you hear Vyper Ranking, you feel real dancehall.
Born Saddam Ayire, Vyper Ranking has built a strong reputation across East Africa through his freestyle ability and energetic dancehall performances.
