Feffe Bussi Aims to Prove Hip-Hop Can Fill Lugogo Cricket Oval
Feffe Bussi is heading into one of the biggest tests of his career as he prepares for his “Hip-Hop Ku Ntiko” concert at the Lugogo Cricket Oval on May 16, 2026.
The Lugogo stage carries weight in Uganda’s music scene, as artistes who fill it often cement their place, while others walk away with lessons after struggling to draw crowds.
Hip-hop has not always had it easy at the venue.
In 2025, a hip-hop festival, dubbed “Yenze Hip-Hop,” attracted a low turnout despite a strong lineup, a result that has kept doubts around the genre at Lugogo.

That history has now followed Feffe Bussi’s show, with some wondering whether hip-hop can carry such a stage on its own.
But while speaking on Sanyuka TV, he made it clear he is not measuring himself against past outcomes.
It may not have gone well for someone else, but I am not them. The timing is different, and I am also a believer. I believe so much that it is going to be okay.
As the date draws closer, attention now turns to whether belief and timing will be enough to turn Lugogo into his moment.
If Lugogo didn’t work out for the rest, it doesn’t mean it won’t work out for me.- Feffe Bussi.#SanyukaBigendaBitya #SanyukaBigendaBitya #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/YjMnLfsEe2
