Alex Muhangi Reassures Fans Following Comedy Store @ 10 Postponement

Comedy Store founder Alex Muhangi has revealed that fans bought more than 5,000 tickets for the platform’s 10th anniversary celebration before organizers postponed the event because of the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

The June 5 show at the Cricket Oval had attracted a star-studded lineup, including Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, Rwanda’s The Ben, Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, and a host of Ugandan entertainers.

Speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, Muhangi said the response from fans had been overwhelming before the postponement.

The show was going to happen this Friday at Cricket Oval. People had paid. Over 5,000 people had bought tickets. Tables had also been bought.

Despite the setback, he said customers who no longer wish to attend when the event returns will be able to claim refunds.

But we explained to them and told them that anyone who insists on getting their money back will get it because we have the records. The good thing is that they were all buying online. When one buys a ticket online, your phone number is captured, so we can reach out to them.

For now, Muhangi says most Comedy Store patrons have responded with understanding.

Whoever demands their money back, we shall give it to them. But the good thing about Comedy Store customers is that they understand.

He stressed that organizers have postponed the anniversary celebration rather than canceled it and will announce a new date once authorities allow concerts to resume.

So the show has not been canceled. It has only been postponed to a later date. We are just waiting for the ministry or government to tell us that the cases have reduced and concerts can resume. Then we shall advertise it again

Comedy Store postponed the event after consultations with the Ministry of Health, citing public safety concerns amid the ongoing Ebola outbreak.
