Balaam Assumes Office as Local Government Minister, Thanks Gen. Muhoozi

Newly appointed Minister of Local Government, Balaam Barugahara, has officially assumed office following a handover ceremony conducted by his predecessor, Raphael Magyezi.

The ceremony brought together government officials, ministry staff, and supporters who witnessed the transition at the ministry headquarters.

Speaking after taking office, Balaam expressed gratitude to those who attended the event and paid special tribute to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the role he played in his journey.

I thank everyone who is here today. Special thanks to Gen. Muhoozi for identifying me and mentoring me.

The minister said the guidance he received over the years helped prepare him for leadership and the responsibilities that come with his new role.

Balaam also welcomed newly appointed State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere, saying he looks forward to working closely with her in serving Ugandans.

I look forward to a good working relationship with Hon. Justine Nameere as we serve Ugandans together.

He pledged to promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective service delivery as he begins his tenure at the Ministry of Local Government.

The handover officially marked the end of Raphael Magyezi’s tenure and the start of a new leadership team at the ministry.
