Bebe Cool Mourns DJ Bush Baby: Remembering a Legendary Inspiration
The Ugandan entertainment industry continues to reel from the sudden loss of Michael Owor, popularly known as DJ Bush Baby, who passed away on June 5.
Among the many musicians and personalities paying tribute is celebrated singer Bebe Cool, who expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his longtime friend and industry icon.
“DJ Bush Baby. What a sad day. You inspired many with your work,” Bebe Cool wrote in a heartfelt post.
He highlighted how DJ Bush Baby’s influence was strongest during the 2000s, especially throughout his time at East Africa Television (EATV) and various radio stations.
During that era, DJ Bush Baby’s star shone brightest, helping to shape the careers of numerous East African artistes.
Bebe Cool emphasized this legacy, stating, “Many East African artistes are who they are because of you.”
The sudden news of DJ Bush Baby’s death came as a shock to the music community and his fans alike.
But amid the grief, Bebe Cool found comfort in knowing that the late DJ’s legacy remains solid and enduring.
“Your sudden death is a big shock. But we are comforted by the fact that your legacy is solid,” he wrote.
Bebe Cool concluded his tribute with a touching farewell: “Rest in peace, brother.”
DJ Bush Baby will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Tororo, Magola Pajangango off Iyolwa Road, on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
