Beenie Gunter Says No Rush for Love After Split from Nickie Berry
Ugandan dancehall star Beenie Gunter, born Crescent Baguma, says he is in no rush to jump into a new relationship following the end of his long term romance with Nickie Berry.
The “Sekkle Down” hitmaker says his focus has shifted, with more attention now going into music and fatherhood rather than dating.
While some celebrities move on quickly after a breakup, Beenie Gunter is taking a different approach.
He believes choosing a life partner is not something to rush or treat casually.
Choosing your lifetime best friend is not something you wake up and do, because even people who live together for years still separate. I am not into this idea of come and go relationships. I would rather take my time than keep losing people along the way.
For fans expecting a new “First Lady” in Guntalk City anytime soon, that may have to wait, as the singer says his current priority is building his career and strengthening his legacy.
He also points to fatherhood as a major reason he feels no pressure to date.
Despite the breakup, he and Nickie Berry continue to co-parent their son.
I give thanks because at least I am a father, so there is no rush. I do not think I can be under pressure to be in a relationship right now. This duty is more important than anything else.
