Davido Says He Learned His Father Was a Billionaire at 13

Nigerian superstar Davido has opened up about his childhood, revealing that he only discovered his father’s billionaire status at age 13.

Speaking on the REVOLT podcast, he described his father as a disciplined man who kept things low-key despite his status.

Davido said he grew up without fully understanding how wealthy his family was. That changed after a major incident disrupted their lives.

He recalled a moment from his childhood when a bomb blast destroyed several homes, including theirs. The situation forced his father to act quickly.

Without much explanation, his father asked the family to get into the car and drove them to a new home. Davido said they arrived at a large house his father had quietly built without their knowledge.

He told us to enter the car, and he started driving, and from nowhere, without even telling us he was building, we just settled into a very huge house that he had been working on.

That moment shifted everything.

It was then that he began to understand the scale of his father’s wealth and the life he had been shielded from.
