Lost & Found: Why Diplo Just Swapped Coachella for Uganda
Welcome back, Diplo. We didn’t know you missed us that much.
Coachella still runs, but Diplo, the international DJ and producer best known as one third of Major Lazer, has popped up in the Pearl of Africa and, in true Diplo fashion, he is making it entertaining.
He had everyone doing a double take after he posted: “I think I took the wrong flight home from Coachella… I’m in Uganda.” Classic Diplo. But let us be honest, this “wrong flight” feels a little too right.
The hitmaker behind global smashes like “Particula,” that 2017 anthem that had Africa in a chokehold, has shared glimpses of his Ugandan adventure. Think gorilla trekking, breathtaking landscapes, and cows casually grazing in the background.
And if you think this is a one-off detour, think again.
This is not even his first time pulling up. Real ones remember his last visit with Walshy Fire years ago. Clearly, something about Uganda stuck with him.
The 256 just has that effect. Ask Gabzy, who keeps showing up so often that fans now joke he might have found himself a Ugandan madam.
Whether it is the people, the culture, or the unmatched scenery, the tourism board barely needs to say a word when the vibes speak this loud.
At this point, Uganda feels like it has a recall button. You visit once, then suddenly you are back, unprovoked, living your best soft life. So no, Diplo did not take the wrong flight. Uganda called, and he answered.
