Bose Ogulu Defends Her Son Burna Boy Amid Arrogance Claims

Nigerian music executive Bose Ogulu has defended her son, Burna Boy, amid growing criticism over his public behavior.

The backlash followed a recent clash between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez, a close associate of Wizkid, at a Lagos club.

The incident quickly spread online, and fans began debating the singer’s attitude and actions.

Critics labeled Burna Boy arrogant and pointed to past confrontations alongside the latest incident.

During an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, Bose Ogulu pushed back against the criticism.

According to her, she does not mind the label and believes people often mistake confidence for arrogance.

In her view, knowing one’s worth and carrying oneself with that awareness should not be seen as a flaw. She added that she will not apologize for that mindset.

I do not mind honestly, I do not mind at all. I mean any adjective they want to attach to you is ok. The thing is who are you? If knowing your worth and carrying yourself as such is arrogant, then it is a good thing. And I cannot apologize for that. Because I think we were born into a world where we were expected to put our heads down.

Addressing broader societal expectations, Ogulu said people often pressure others to downplay their confidence because of factors like background and gender.

Her remarks add a new angle to the ongoing conversation about Burna Boy’s public image and how people perceive confidence.
